the Expositor
So how am I an expositor?
The perpetual lunacy of my surroundings clash against the ordered pillars of my mind and create salvos of fury wrapped in logic. However, my exposition - my jovial cynicisms and poignant soliloquys - needed a vehicle, so having a so-called blog seemed congruent.
…perhaps the Chardonnay and Lean Pockets have uniquely coalesced chemically in my stomach to precipitate some freak enzyme that triggers profound bursts of reasoning.
My blog is called Negative99 and is an exposition of my multitudinous rants, ravings and musings. I often rant about my interests (faith, music, guitar, web design, politics, common sense, programming, gaming, and the origin of the universe) but could spout on any topic without warning.
While we’re at it, let’s employ a fleet of C-130s to carpet-bomb every major city of the world with leaflets warning of deforestation due to wasteful uses of paper.
Negative99 is an eclectic blend of faith and poetic chaos, balancing pleasant notes of electric guitar with subtle hints of geekness, finishing over a bouquet of discernment and class. The opinions expressed are wholly my own, but should also be everyone else’s. People who are easily offended should skip over my blog and visit somewhere safer.

John Petrucci in Alabany
16 May 08 :: Asides
John Petrucci, a guitar master and prog-rock genius playing for the band Dream Theater, will be giving a clinic in Albany, NY this weekend while his band is in town doing a show… a show which I have tickets to.
The clinic will be at Trick Shot Billiards [map] - right behind Parkway Music [...]
Compassion, Poverty, and Politics
13 May 08 :: Faith
The following is a discussion snippet from Compassion International’s blog. They recently had a blog post debating transparency versus marketing with respect to the best direction for the content of their blog.
During the conversation I ran into Ashleigh, a 21-yr-old schoolgirl who seemed full of inexperience and strong opinions. For example, [...]

A Demonstration on Pride (updated)
11 May 08 :: Faith
In my church we’ve been doing a series on the 7 deadly sins. Today’s sermon was on pride, and we opened with a video presentation that included this YouTube clip here of a girl upset because her father just gave her a car that was red, and she REALLY wanted blue. Her reaction [...]
Legends of Hiro
08 May 08 :: Flash Games
Legends of Hiro (created by Visual Noise) is a Japanese-style RPG (that’s role-playing game, not rocket-propelled grenade) in the vein of a bazillion other games, like Final Fantasy. This game is actually fairly involved, has some crudeness to it (you’ve been warned) and will help kill time during your boring classes. [...]
What does Negative99 mean?
I am frequently asked how my blog got its name. In the year 1997 I was gaming online with some Navy buddies. Quake 2 had just come out and we hopped on a server runnin’ a paintball mod. With no clue as to the new “paintball rules” our scores quickly degraded to -99 (the lowest possible).
When we formed a Quake clan a short while later, we became Clan Negative 99. I made the clan homepage… which soon doubled as my personal page… which became exclusively my personal page when the clan retired.
On a side note, I scrounged up this pic you see here from the old clan homepage. It is a screenshot of some of my personal practice time apart from “official” clan matches. If any of my former clan has any other of our screenshots please send them.
